When Dave Fowler, Columbia guitarist, first tried The Peanut Man’s Low Country Cajun Boiled P-nuts he was floored!!! Says Dave, “these things are so addictive I’ve had vivid dreams of eating um”. Dave began to talk with the Peanut Man ,Chris Hinely, and discovered they shared a love of blues and rock music. Dave found sublime inspiration one day after consuming a $5. bag of Cajun’s in one hour washed down with two good ole Blenheim Ginger Ales. Dave promptly wrote the diddy “Peanutman” in that hour. Dave adds, “I have always been sort of a nut and The Peanut Man just brought that out!”Dave only had a small hand held recorder, but set out to lay down a couple guitar tracks to flesh out his tune. He found a nice shuffle rhythm on his “beatbox”. He sang it too, but knew that his voice was just not right for the song. He needed a true gutsy, soulful voice to carry this joyous message. He found that talent in Hank “The Tank” Jones. Hank is a mountain of a man who has a deep, resonate, soulful voice that grabs your attention from the start. Hank has performed on the Broadway production of Showboat, the Houston Grand Opera, Florence Little Theatre, and sung the National Anthem for the Charlotte Hornets. I hope you enjoy the tune as much as I do. Dave is always up for low key, informal blues/rock jams and can be contacted at:
